Water Engineering Technologies has embarked on a program to replace 20-30 ageing wastewater pump station (WWPS) switchboards in both metro and regional areas.
Our teams will be responsible for the construction and installation of new switchboards that will be easier to operate, safer, and more reliable – helping to assure continuity of wastewater services for our customers.
Maintenance Delivery Coordinator Dylan Stenson says the switchboards can also be connected by off-the-grid generators to ensure that they remain fully functional in the event of a loss of mains power.
“The units also have a better interface and provide improved fault information, so we can diagnose any problems more easily and get things working again faster,” Dylan said.
This week, SA Water’s O’Sullivan Beach WWPS117 received one of the five new switchboards built by and tested at Water Engineering Technologies modern, state-of-the-art electrical workshop located in Berri. The production of multiple switchboards in quick succession enabled us to maximise economies of scale and ensure a high level of consistency, quality and efficiency.
In conjunction with the switchboard upgrade, the early technical involvement of our team and SA Water WWPS operators has helped address other site-specific issues. For example, a concrete driveway was added to improve access and reduce risk of vehicle slippage, improving safety, at Campbelltown WWPS104.
